MBiolSci Molecular Biology (University of Sheffield))
Originally from Leicester, I graduated from the University of Sheffield with an integrated master’s degree in Molecular Biology in 2017.
Since then, I’ve moved further north to the University of Leeds, starting my PhD as part of the Wellcome Trust programme ‘The Molecular Basis of Biological Mechanisms’. This gave me the opportunity to spend time in a number of different labs, during which I developed a keen interest in cryo-electron microscopy and membrane protein structure.
As part of the Ranson group, my current research applies cryo-EM to the study of bacterial nutrient importers with the aim of revealing conformational states essential for a complete understanding of substrate translocation and regulation.
